Arriving on the Island of Kauai, my excitement could not be contained. First stop, the Hyatt Grand Resort and Spa in Koloa! Entering my suite I walked straight to the patio (lanai) to be astounded by the garden and ocean view. Below a swan caught my eye as it floated along with koi in its wake. Walking the property I had to window-shop the boutiques and admire the artwork. Tropical foliage led me on a path past; gardens, ponds and saltwater lagoons, then to my surprise the pool! No typical pool either, more like pools that have waterfalls connecting them and hot tubs scattered around so you feel like it’s your own oasis. Ride the slide or float on a raft the Hyatt has so many activities to offer! Absorb some Hawaiian culture with a myriad of hands-on demonstrations, to name a few: lei making and hula lessons.
The award-winning Anara Spa is a way to get pampered. With a 25-yard lap pool, outdoor Lava rock showers, saunas, steam room and whirlpools you can easily get into a relaxed state. After dinner get a cocktail at Stevenson’s Library and some light entertainment, what a lovely way to end the night.
Drive over to the north shore and check into the lavish St. Regis Princeville. This is a hotel known for its standards and quality of service. Simply put I felt like a Princess walking into the suite. Greetings from my butler rounded out that royal feeling. Touring the property my eyes caught details of fresh flowers and local fine art. Walk to the beach, check out a snorkel and say hi to the fish. Lounge chairs and umbrellas keep you comfortable while you get some R&R both beach and poolside. Float into the mosaic bottom pool with Dining Cabanas steps away. I strolled over to the Halele’a Spa and the ambiance alone made me calm. Water walls in moments to fall asleep.

Arriving at my room the vibrant décor gave the room amazing energy. From the lanai a stunning pool and ocean view. Marriott has the largest single-level pool in the state of Hawaii and it is beautiful. Enjoy a swim and a poolside snack from Kalapaki Grill. Lay back in a private cabana on the beach or go kayaking, Marriott has plenty of activities to offer. After taking a stroll on the beach I decided to go to Duke’s for dinner and live music. Relaxed with the Aloha feeling my journey is now complete.
